After watching Wemby score 14 points in the two overtimes, Smith asked, “Where the hell is Chet Holmgren?” He said smaller defenders cannot keep taking that matchup: “You’re 7’1. You got skills. You can play.”

Chet Holmgren Caught Stepping On Victor Wembanyama's Foot In Game 1
Chet was nowhere to be seen in Game 1 vs the Spurs, having just 8 points and 8 rebounds. Wemby on the other hand, dropped an otherworldly 41 and 24 in the double OT win. In one instance as they battled for a rebound, Chet was seen purposefully stepping on Wemby's foot to gain advantage for the rebound.
