Stephen A. Smith Says He Negotiated Leaving NBA Countdown During Contract Negotiations

Smith said his contract talks “started in June and ended in March,” and “it was decided… Wouldn’t be doing NBA Countdown any more because I didn’t want to.” He said, “No shade against ESPN,” adding he had “other things on my plate.” He noted two radio shows weren’t running during Countdown duties but are active now under his production company.
