Steve Phelps Admits NASCAR Has to Do a Better Job of Increasing the Star Power of Drivers

Phelps insisted that going down the F1 route to focus more on the drivers would drive the sport's growth. "We need to make heroes of drivers, because you strap into a 3,500lb car, it’s dangerous, and these guys are heroes in their own right,” the NASCAR Commissioner said. "Our media partners need to help us do that," Phelps concluded.
