ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that contract talks between the Texans and quarterback C.J. Stroud are on hold. Fowler said Houston has prioritized extensions for stars like Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr., while many around the league expect Stroud to play out his rookie deal before seeking a new contract. The Texans have already exercised Stroud's fifth-year option for 2027, projected to be worth $25.9 million.
