Texans Release Ajani Carter, Xavier Thomas From Injured Reserve
The Texans released defensive back Ajani Carter and linebacker Xavier Thomas from injured reserve with injury settlements, according to the NFL transaction wire. Thomas, a former fifth-round pick by the Cardinals in 2024, appeared in four games for Arizona before joining Houston's practice squad. Carter signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2025 and spent last season on the practice squad.
