Tomoyuki Sugano said pitching for Samurai Japan against Australia national baseball team with the Emperor of Japan watching, the monarch’s first imperial game visit in 60 years, was “a special feeling.” He admitted nerves but said the joy of pitching there was stronger and he pitched to give fans a great game. Team Japan won the game 4-3.
