Turf Debate Shaken as NFL Reveals Matching Injury Rates, Fewer ACL Tears

The NFL says injury rates were nearly identical on turf (.43) and grass (.42) in 2025. League data also showed kickoff returns jumping to 74.5% while injuries declined, with ACL tears dropping 25% to a seven-year low, and only two flags despite 30 hip-drop fines. Achilles injuries however rose slightly (16) above the league average (13.5).
