Tyler Austin Uses Japan Experience To Hype Tatsui Imai’s ‘Fork’ Slider
After six seasons in Japan, Austin said NPB arms can shock MLB hitters. He praised Imai’s “stuff” and “makeup,” calling him “dialed into his craft.” In their lone matchup, Austin struck out and told him, “That’s a disgusting fork.” A Cubs analyst laughed: “Those were sliders… I’ve never seen one like it.” Now he’s eager to see it translate here.
