US Plans Massive 2026 World Cup Security Operation

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said US authorities are preparing “78 Super Bowls in 38 days” for the 2026 World Cup. DHS plans stadium sweeps, wider perimeters, traffic control and fewer choke points across host cities. The expanded 48-team tournament, co-hosted by the US, Canada and Mexico, will bring millions of visitors and record matches across North America.
