Varsity Blue Star James Van Der Beek Dies at 48

Van Der Beek died peacefully following a battle with colorectal cancer. His family said he faced his final days with “courage, faith, and grace.” He continued acting through treatment, appearing on Walker and The Masked Singer, and remained known for his leading roles in Dawson’s Creek and the film Varsity Blues. Van Der Beek leaves behind his wife and six children.
