Wemby has established over the past few seasons that he does not view opposing players as friends when competing against them. Gafford felt the brunt of this when he went to help a fallen Wemby to his feet at the very start of Mavs-Spurs. Victor pushed Gafford's hand away, getting helped up solely by his San Antonio teammate.
