Listed as questionable for the game vs. Mavericks, Wembanyama played 26 minutes, dropping 40 points and 13 rebounds. When asked if there was any way he wouldn't have played the game, Wemby replied candidly, "If I'd had 65 [games] before, I would, for sure, not have played." Recovering from a rib contusion, Wemby played to secure NBA awards eligibility.
