If an NFL divisional round game is tied after both teams have had an opportunity to possess the ball in the first 15-minute overtime period, the game becomes a sudden-death affair. And play continues with additional 15-minute periods until a winner is determined. Unlike in the regular season, where games can end in a tie, playoff games must have a winner.
