Why is Sepp Straka not playing BMW PGA Championship

Austrian golfer Straka, ranked No. 10 in the world and No. 5 in FedExCup standings, has withdrawn from the BMW PGA Championship (BMW event at Wentworth) citing a private family matter. His manager, Butler Melnyk, said Straka requested privacy. Though skipping Wentworth, Straka plans to compete in the Tour Championship and remains fully committed to Europe’s Ryder Cup squad.
