WNBA Expanding Regular Season to 50 Games Beginning in 2027

The WNBA announced its regular season will expand from 44 to 50 games beginning in 2027, calling it a “significant milestone” during record growth. Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said demand “has never been greater,” with the new CBA allowing a later season finish. The league also has an option to expand to 52 games in 2029.
