WWE SmackDown to Return to Three-Hour Format Starting January 2, 2026

“Buffalo, New York, January 2nd, 3 weeks from tonight, Friday Night Smackdown returns to 3 full hours,” Michael Cole confirmed on the December 12 SmackDown broadcast. The show ran three hours from January 2025 through June, then returned to two. SmackDown continues Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network, with the expanded format returning for the first episode of 2026.
