Yu Darvish to Retire, Will Leave $43M on Padres Deal

Darvish, 39, will retire and not pitch again in the majors after October surgery to repair a torn UCL and flexor tendon in his right elbow. He’ll retire with three years and $43 million remaining on his contract with the Padres. Darvish in 2025 had 15 starts (plus Wild Card Game 3) with 5–5, 5.38 ERA, 68K and 1.18 WHIP.
