“It’s funny… every year when we were picking 31 and 32,” Veach said as Kansas City now holds picks No. 9 and No. 29, the highest the perennial contenders have drafted since 2013. The Chiefs earned the top-10 selection after a 6-11 season and also added No. 29 in the Trent McDuffie trade. This gives them rare first-round flexibility to address needs at edge rusher, cornerback, and receiver.
