Chiefs Want Grass Field at New Kansas Stadium
Chiefs president Mark Donovan said the team's preference is for a grass playing surface at its planned new stadium in Kansas. The $3 billion, 70,000-seat domed venue is scheduled to open before the 2031 season and will feature a translucent roof, expanded fan amenities, and design elements inspired by Arrowhead Stadium while serving as the franchise's future home.
