Chris Bassitt Exits Orioles Loss With Lower Back Tightness

Bassitt left Baltimore’s 8-1 loss at Boston on Wednesday after three innings with lower back tightness, as his velocity dipped. Manager Craig Albernaz said he was “grinding through it” during a 36-pitch third, when Wilyer Abreu hit a two-run homer. Bassitt allowed three runs, then said, “Chalk this up on me,” while backing Baltimore to rebound behind Trevor Rogers.
