Fernando Alonso Pushes Back on Proposal to Shorten F1 Races

Alonso dismissed Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali’s idea to shorten F1 races to add fan interest. “Football matches are a little bit long… no one is talking about having 60-minute football matches,” he said. The Spaniard argued that fans can’t be fully concentrated for 90 minutes either, yet the tradition stands, suggesting F1 shouldn’t rush to make amends its ways.
