Germany Lose Penalty Shootout for the First Time in World Cup History

Jose Canale scored the decisive kick as Paraguay won 4-3 on penalties to shock Germany in the Round of 32. The European giants had won all four World Cup shootouts they had taken part in. Kai Havertz, Nick Woltemade, and Jonathan Tah all missed from the spot. Germany has failed to win a World Cup knockout match since 2014.
