“He Didn’t Help Us”: Jamal Adams Blames Adam Gase for Trading Sam Darnold in 2021

“He showed flashes. That’s why the trade didn’t make sense. The head coach that we hired, Adam Gase, didn’t really help us out,” Jamal Adams said. “He did not help us out. Sometimes you look back and say, ‘Golly!’ We had Sam Darnold in our hands, and now he’s going to the Super Bowl,” Adams added. Sam joined the Panthers in 2021 and moved to the Seahawks in 2025.
