Jack Kochanowicz to Undergo Tommy John Surgery After Surprise UCL Tear
Kochanowicz was stunned after Monday’s MRI showed a torn UCL despite 98 mph velocity and discomfort mainly on changeups. “I didn’t think this was in the cards,” he said. The 25-year-old will undergo Tommy John surgery, likely missing until 2028. His ERA jumped from 3.05 through seven starts to 11.91 over his next six, leaving Friday’s rotation spot open.
