Kazuma Okamoto Breaks Shohei Ohtani's Record for Homers by Japanese rookie
Okamoto clubbed his 23rd homer of the season, a 408-foot strike against the Red Sox, to break Ohtani's record for home runs by a Japanese rookie in the MLB. Ohtani posted his 22 homers as a rookie in 367 plate appearances, compared to Okamoto’s 411 PAs. White Sox's Munetaka Murakami can end up eclipsing both, sitting on 20 homers currently.
