Malik Beasley Cleared in Gambling Probe, Free Agency Reopens

Beasley’s attorneys confirmed he was cleared in the federal gambling investigation. A planned 3-year, $42M deal with Pistons collapsed when the probe surfaced. “An allegation should never have the catastrophic consequence this has caused,” his counsel said. Averaging 16.3 points on 41.6% from deep last season, Beasley now re-enters free agency with multiple teams expected to re-engage discussions.
