Max Scherzer Leads Injury-Hit Blue Jays to Win Over the Rockies
Scherzer gave up four hits in six innings and allowed one run as the Blue Jays beat the Rockies 5-1. With Trey Yesavage, José Berríos, and Shane Bieber out, and Cody Ponce's right ACL sprain potentially leading to prolonged missed time, Scherzer stepped up. The Blue Jays improved to 4-1. The Rockies fell to 1-4.

Pittsburgh Pirates Manager Don Kelly Thrown Out of the Game Against the Reds
With the Pirates leading 6-3 in the eighth, Kelly was upset over a check-swing he believed to be called incorrectly. He was then tossed after telling the umpire to "watch the game". Kelly then stepped onto the field and argued passionately with the umpire. The Pirates won the game 8-3.
