MLB Threatens Restricted List For Players Declining Olympic Call
MLB reportedly proposed discipline for players selected to their countries’ Olympic teams who decline without an exemption. The penalties could include fines and placement on MLB’s restricted list for 2-3 weeks. The proposal also says clubs, owners, agents and executives may not discourage players from participating, adding another labor flashpoint amid the salary cap fiasco.
