NFL Says It Didn’t Impose a $5 Million Fine on Seahawks

The NFL and Seahawks have strongly denied reports that the team was fined $5 million for failing to comply with league ownership requirements. NFL chief spokesman Brian McCarthy said, “The team was not fined.” The dispute centers on a report by Andrew Beaton of The Wall Street Journal alleging that the Seahawks were privately penalized for being out of compliance with league ownership rules.
