NFL Still Finalizing Process for Sending Officials to the UFL

“The details are still to be worked out,” an NFL spokesperson said regarding a new CBA provision that could send underperforming officials to the UFL for additional experience. The agreement gives the league more flexibility to develop struggling referees through outside opportunities. Several NFL officials already have worked UFL games in recent seasons, but league and UFL officials have not finalized a formal system.
