Rays, Austin Slater Agree To Minor League Deal

Slater is hitting just .209 with 15 strikeouts in 49 plate appearances this season across four organizations. The Rays signed the veteran outfielder to a minor league deal after his outright from the Mets. He carries a .212/.298/.304 slash line since the beginning of 2024. The Rays need the depth with Jake Fraley and Jonny DeLuca both sidelined until July.
