Emmanwori underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle after battling an injury suffered four days before Super Bowl LX. Despite playing 70 of 72 defensive snaps against the Patriots, the ankle failed to recover during the offseason. Macdonald was noncommittal about Emmanwori’s return. He was asked multiple times whether he expects Emmanwori to play in the season opener. “I don’t know,” Macdonald said.
