Scanes recalled meeting Verstappen in Barcelona in Dec. 2019 after being recommended as a coach-physio. “I actually said no at first… I was preparing for the Tokyo Olympics with British gymnastics, running my clinic, working 60–70 hours a week,” he said. But the chance to focus on a single athlete made him call back and accept.

Haas Admits Simulator Delay Hampers 2026 F1 Prep Despite Toyota Deal

Haas boss Ayao Komatsu revealed the team is “behind” as its Toyota-backed simulator won’t be ready until mid-2025. For now, Haas relies on Ferrari’s sim, limiting access and cost efficiency. “This PU is a huge challenge… the simulator plays a much bigger role,” Komatsu said.
