Charles, 37, retires as the WNBA’s all-time leading rebounder, second all-time leading scorer, a league MVP, and unanimous Rookie of the Year in 2010. “Tina has defined excellence and consistency,” Cathy Engelbert said. The commissioner also praised her Hopey’s Heart Foundation work, two Dawn Staley Community Leadership Awards, and her standard as “a leader, a teammate, and a champion.”
