Fernando Mendoza Explains How His Instincts Helped Him Score “Aerial TD” Against Miami
Mendoza’s 12-yard aerial TD proved crucial as Indiana beat Miami 27–21 to win the championship. “It’s a running play. I am a quarterback. I was supposed to run left. And all of a sudden, some instinct told me, let’s run it right,” Mendoza recalled. He added that, luckily, it resulted in a touchdown. “All of a sudden, I was in the air,” he joked.
