“We finally got Coach Cignetti to smile. That’s our biggest accomplishment,” Mendoza said when asked what made this win special. Earlier, he appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show. “Jimmy, everybody knows that Tonight Show is for champions. So, here I am,” he said with a smile. Mendoza achieved the rare double this year with Indiana’s championship win and a Heisman victory.
