NCAA Votes to Eliminate Bowl Transition Penalty

The NCAA Division I Council has voted to eliminate the bowl transition penalty, clearing the way for transitioning programs to become bowl-eligible immediately. If approved through the remaining governance process, the change would make North Dakota State and Sacramento State eligible to compete in bowl games as soon as the 2026 season, according to Pete Nakos.
