NCAA Won’t Back Down on New Eligibility Rule

The NCAA Division I Cabinet approved its new age-based eligibility model and says lawsuits won’t change its stance. “We don't intend to change course,” the Cabinet said after athletes challenged the rule in court. The model starts an athlete’s eligibility clock upon full-time enrollment or after their 19th birthday and will take effect beginning with the 2027 recruiting class.
