Sabonis underwent season-ending surgery on Wednesday morning to repair the torn Meniscus in his left knee. Although he rehabbed the injury and tried playing through it, Sabonis has now opted for surgery as the Kings tank for a better 2026 Draft pick. He has played just 19 games this season, hampered by injuries, averaging 15.8ppg, 11.4rpg and 4.1apg.

Van Gundy says the NBA has to remove any incentive for losing to prevent tanking from happening. "Get rid of the draft.
