Philadelphia Bets $60M That MLB All-Star Week Will Pay Off

Philadelphia spent nearly $60M on 2026 All-Star preparations and $500M upgrading its airport, with Mayor Cherelle L. Parker calling it a “defining opportunity” to showcase the city. MLB expects around 100,000 visitors for draft events, Home Run Derby, fan festivals and more, aiming to boost local jobs, tourism and sponsorship while celebrating baseball and America’s 250th birthday.
